Hello everyone! I’ve been absent from posting but not from VISITING blogs! I finally made it through the original list over at Karen’s bloggerette Sorority…ugh! So much loveliness so little time. Anyway, I DID visit the entire list even if I didn’t get to leave a comment, sometimes I was surfing while cooking, watching kids swim lessons, coloring my hair etc and just couldn’t leave a comment. But now I have to go back and see the newest members! It’s been great finding so many bloggers with similar interests. My Google Reader list has sure grown lol!

My latest project has been designing party goods for my daughter’s 6th birthday. She is inviting her ENTIRE tball team to the zoo after a game. So we have a zoo theme we’re working with. I found these FABULOUS graphics here Cup Cake Cuties. We made the invites of course, name tags for the girls to wear at the zoo to help out the party volunteers (ie grandma and Aunt Lori). I also used a sheet of Avery lables and printed these designs out for party favors for each girl. I bought blank party favor bags on Etsy and I’m making treat bag toppers. Then I’m making scrabble tile necklaces for each of them. Stickers, necklaces and some candy will fill the bags :) I will just finish up with Thank You’s! It’s been so much fun making all this coordinated stuff. My husband thinks I’m insane because I can buy it all cheaper at Walmart, but this has been fun!

And now for some good stuff… Many bloggers are having amazing giveaways right now you don’t want to miss out! Here are 2 you just don’t want to miss!

This Crazy Life Michelle is going crazy with near daily giveaways! Get over there now

My good friend Bonnie in South Africa is celebrating her blogaversary with a HUGE giveaway of crafting goodies, some she made herself! Can’t beat one of a kind!

Ok, so my first go around with a sorority in college (a million years ago) was less than fulfilling to say the least. I didn’t fit in, at all! But this current venture I’m positive will be exactly where I belong! Part of our “rush” was to take a given image and make something with it, then photograph ourselves with our project. The hard part about this was photographing me with the my rush project. I did a digital journal page, that also doubles as a “stop” on my Art Journal Caravan journey. I decided the picture matched up with my “assignment” of the word “collection” by I’m starting a new collection of blog sisters. Tada…
Here is my assignment, me pictured with my printed out page and of course my muse in training. And here is the piece in it’s entirety since it’s hard to see in the above photo. There are some design credits due here… Tangie’s parcel 11, Alpha from DDE penelope, Studio Flergs Glitter style,Photo courtesy of from Karen at Some Days Are Diamonds blog. Font Devon. All pieces I put together to make this image. This was our week 12 assignment for the caravan, the current week is 26 or so… I’m terribly behind the pack pulling up the rear lol!

I’m also behind in posting my father’s day project.

I took a wood photo frame and altered it into this for my dad. I don’t have a scrable set (yet) so I ordered the “grandpa” name plate from Etsy seller Squares of Flair and I went from there! I think it turned out rather nicely and I’m sure it looks nice in his office cube.
For my husband, I took the easy way out and bought another person’s fabulous work. The Taffy Box has custom stamped guitar picks. I got the “You Rock Daddy” one and it was a hit!

So as I’m starting to visit all the Bloggerette sorority blogs (listed on the side bar here), I realize a little information about me would be helpful! I have been married for 13 years and I’m a mom to an almost 6 year old daughter, and 4.5 year old son, and 2 boxer dogs who keep me very busy! In college I majored in fashion design but then never used my degree. The creating bug never left me, just couldn’t figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. Well, I still don’t know! But after suffering great unhappiness with many different jobs, I now realize I need to figure out how to make a living by creating. That is the path I am pursuing now. Besides art, my other passions include gardening and yoga. I teach 2 yoga classes a week and wish I could do that everyday!
Ok, enough about me! I’m off to meet some more sisters!

Cell phone carrier

June 4th, 2010 | Posted by RubyMoonArt in Uncategorized - (1 Comments)

I’ve been in the sewing mood lately! I don’t know about you, but I always seem to be a million miles away from my phone when it rings. I rarely have on pants that have pockets I can carry my phone in, so I made a pouch. This was an inexpensive canvas pouch from Hobby Lobby that I embellished and replaced the handle with a satin ribbon. It has a really long handle so I can wear it across my body and the phone lies on my hip. I love it!
Today is officially the first day of summer vacation at our house. I took the kids to the strawberry patch today! It was a blast and now we have 7 lbs of fresh strawberries to gobble up! Have a great weekend everyone!
